While studying the role of stem cells in skin regeneration, researchers at the University of Pennsylvania medical center say they've been able to regenerate new hair follicles in adult mice. They weren't trying to cure baldness, but they say that they may have, by combining stem cells with a secret compound. This is different from hair loss drugs like Propecia and Rogaine, which help people maintain their hair but don't grow new hair.As Dr. Nancy Snyderman said, this treatment could be on the market for humans within three years.

This has nothing to do with embryonic stem cells. The u.s. government allows this type of use of stem cells which, for example: may come from your arm. FYI embryonic stem cells, the stem cells your talking about, haven't produced any breakthroughs in the scientific community to date.

Take a mild bit of saw palmetto once a day, improve your diet fruit and veg and improve your protein intake cause your hairs mostly protein.

The growth factors probably only need to be applied until the follicle is mature. Then there's no need for growth factors just like your other follicles. But yeah, if you have male pattern baldness, expect it to show up again after whatever time length it took you to get male pattern baldness. Then you probably need to repeat the procedure.

or maybe people are living longer. it was kind of hard to go bald when the average person lived to about 25yrs old in medieval times.

There were not many bald people in past times, you look at historical figures, medieval times and the level of baldness was not as high as today i.e stress, diets, enviroment has taken its toll on millions of mens scalp!!!

It does mention in the film that "growth factors" will be needed in conjunction with this procedure.... so i think once you have had this treatment you will need to be on sum medication to maintain what you have grown back. I personlly am very excited about this & cant wait for it to come to market if it does.
